Johann Georg Selected in Langton's Classification

Our Johann Georg Shiraz has been selected in the 25th Anniversary Edition of Langton's Classification of Australian Wine. Langton's Classification of Australian Wine is the paramount form guide to Australia's finest wines. Entry into the Classification is based on a wine's reputation and track record at auction.

This wine is a tribute to Johann Georg Kalleske, the first Kalleske ancestor to migrate to Australia from Prussia in 1838. The substantial, 120-acre vineyard, organic and biodynamic, with an average vine age of 50 years, is now regarded as one of the region's great 'grower' vineyards.

Langton's has classified our Johann Georg Shiraz as one of the Classic Australian Wines of Consistent Excellence.

The Excellent category comprises established market performers with a reputation for offering something unique and different. These powerfully evocative wines articulate authenticity and a compelling narrative. Heritage, foresight, progress and innovation are a common thread. Many have a long-standing reputation for consistency, integrity and longevity. Others represent the vanguard of contemporary wine making practices and regional expression.

The Johann Shiraz has already received many outstanding reviews and awards, including 5 star rating from James Halliday, the GRAND Gold Medal at the International Organic Wine Awards, and a 5 star rating from Huon Hooke in Gourmet Traveller Wine.

The 2012 vintage Johann Georg Shiraz is available now, so Order on our website or visit us in Cellar Door. We promise you will not be disappointed!
